Objective:

• The LEO Golf Academy along with Golf. My Future. My Game. will create strategic alliance initiatives for education and career development in the sport of golf. Over the course of the eight-week program, we will select creative ways for current LEO Golf Academy youth to understand the tradition of the game along with providing a platform for them to feel comfortable knowing that this is a game and industry they can be a part of.

Motivation:

• The sport of golf, along with the associated industries, is perceived as the game for the elite and privileged. On the professional circuit, players are overwhelmingly white and male, and earning disparities exist for women in the sport. Documented in the 2012 report Golf’s 20/20 Vision; there is a globalization of golf that is reflected not only abroad, but in the demographic shift of this nation. This is vital as the sport of golf seeks more aggressively to pique interest and engage a multi-cultural consumer and talent base.

Goal:

• Provide youth with early exposure to the golf industry through an innovative immersive program that will serve as a valuable laboratory for the next generation of professional and industry leaders. In addition to the experience, students will have the opportunity to work together in a collaborative effort to present a Talent Acquisition case study for local leaders, officials, LEO Golf Academy leaders. to understand the tradition of the game along with providing a platform for them to feel comfortable knowing that this is a game and industry they can be a part of.
